RJ #13: free choice Matched by Ally Condle

Dear Gaby,
I wrote this for you because i know you read this book already. I didn't get the chance to read all of it but i pretty much read a lot.Cassia has a banquet to find out who her match is Which is the one she will spend her life with.
You can only have this banquet when you are 17. Cassia just turned 17 on the day of the banquet. She went with her bast friend, Xander. They went into the air train and told each other about their artifact they brought. Cassia had a gold box and Xander had cuff links. When they had got there they each went to their seats with their family.
First they had the food and then the desert. Cassia wanted to save some cake for her brother because he is to young to attend to a matched banquet. Cassia was one of the middle ones to be called up to see who her match is.Meanwhile she ate her cake because she didnt have anywhere to keep it for her brother. She waited a long time to be called. Finally she was called up and there was a familiar face, it was Xander.
But then the screen turned black and only after a couple minutes it turned on again it was still Xander but that never oftenly happened.cassia got her silver box with all the things she needs to know about her match. But she knows she doesn't need it because she knows all about Xander. When the banquet is over everyone is dismissed except for Cassia and Xander they tell them it is not usual for the screen to go black. They told them it might be because they know each other already. They will have different guides to follow.Cassia knew they will get married and have kids like the rest. They went on the train and they were both closer then they always were. When Cassia got home she stayed outside to think of all this. Then went into bed not wanting to end this special night.she takes a last peek in the silver box before going into bed. She sees the blue tablet the yellow tablet and the red tablet. she know what the blue and yellow mean but never the red. There was always rumors that it was bad.She stopped thinking about that went into bed and allowed herself to dream about Xander for the first time.
This is all i read i really like this book and i will read it until I`m done and hopefully i will get Crossed.Thank you for suggesting this book to me Gaby these are the kind of books i like!!!

blog #12 - memoir Chicken soup for the soul of the america

Dear Orly,
last week i read the memoir Chicken soup for the soul of america.
My most favorite story was about a school project that a student had to do. he had to give someone that he honors a blue winner ribbon and tell him to do someone else. So he gave an employee at the office department one and told him to do another one for hima nd an extra for the other. The employee gave his boss one and told him he appreciates him. Then he gave him the extra ribbon to give someone else. The boss got home and called his son he gave him the ribbon and told him he is sorry for always screaming at him and never listening to him.
The son answer "' im happy you said that because i was planning on comitting suiscide tomorrow"'
When i read the last line i was shocked and happy at the same time. That project saved someones life and that teaches every one that even something small thats nice can make someones day. This is another reason im always nice :)! So take it seriously and try making someones day.

blog #11: Chicken soup to the souls of girls

Dear Sharon,
This week i read Chicken soup. I really liked the book it is very interesting reading other peoples experience especially that its for girls. The one story that i really liked was about a sixth grader (i don't remember her name)
that didn't grow like other girls. All the girls acted like teens. She was shocked and surprised. When  it was P.E time the girls saw what she didn't grow like others. She was embarrassed.of course this got around the whole school and she got bullied by others. In math class she didn't even pay attention no one talked to her and didn't to others.Until her pencil fell and the girl that was heavier than others and had lots of acne picked it up for her. She told her she heard about what happened in p.e . then she told her that that's how people acted to her too. She helped the non-growing girl ignore the bullies and fight back after one week thanks too her she didn't get bullied one bit. She thanked her and they became very good friends.

Title: A Legacy Of Service: Three generations of pines family have served the military
Author: Perry Stein
Source: The Miami Herald
The topic of the article is the generation of the Perez family in the military.
The main idea of the article is: Stated. It is that all 3 family members haave done incredible things in the military.
The author’s purpose for writing this article is to inform readers about the great things the perez family did in the military.
The author’s perspective in this article is objective/subjective (biased) because subjective because he is saying facts about them.
The pattern of organization of the article is organized in quotes then facts and what happened then.
The reason the author chose this pattern for the article is for us to understand easier what happened at that time and what each ones thinks about it.
The text features included in the article are: Photo and caption helps by understanding whos who helps by understanding the process and whats going on, and helps by gaining more knowledge.
This article is about (a summary in your words) Bolivar Perez-Rios which did many things in the military. Like helping many people survive in the explosion in 1944 Christmas eve and not giving up the military. His son after him was like him and did those kind of things. His grandson is still in the military as usual helping America. His great-grandson is planning great military careers.
The significance (importance) of this article is that anyone can do anything and that you understand what every little thing can make a big change.
What I learned from this article is that what comes around in the family stays around the whole family like the perez family.
What I liked about this article is that it had many facts that i didnt know at all.
What I did not like about it that it had some confusing things that made me think harder.
Who should read this article and why? I think soldiers and veterans should read this article because it will give them confidence.
This article reminds me of my cousin that go to the army in israel.
This reminds me of the time i read "Facts About the Military.
All the different armies in the world.
New vocabulary I learned was memorabilia.
Word Context Clues Meaning
1.mementos
2.i grew up listening to his stories
3.influenced

blog #10: short-stories O'henry short stories.

Dear Sara,
I am writing this to you because you told me about O'henry stories. I read many short stories, but there was one that really talked to me.
Its about a young man who lived with his wealthy parents. One day he told his father that he wants to go to  military. His father said " go and never give up no matter what you have to sacrifice"
He left to military. After a couple years the civil war had come. his left foot and leg were on the street and the rest of his body was on the sidewalk. he woke up and didn't understand what was happening. he saw his horse was waiting for him. he tried standing up but he fell back down. he stayed on the floor for a while. When he finally got up someone vicious on a black horse shot his leg and he , Chris, landed in the bushes. When he was awake he somehow remembered about how his dad told him not to give up no matter what. Chris got back up and stared limping. someone saw him so he hid in the same bush he fell in. But it was his friend that was in military to. His name was Steve. He helped Chris hide to a safe place he stayed for a couple minutes and went back to the fight. Chris was lonely. When the war was over no one came to get Chris. Until, someone knocked on the wall, it was one of his peers in the military, Ben. He helped Chris out and all he saw was injured people and people dead on the floor including Steve. There were lots of people left but lots of people gone too. this part almost made me cry. After years of medical help Chris could walk again. This story really talked and related  to me because i have lots of cousins that are in the Israeli army. Thank g-d they are all in one piece and healthy.Thank you Sara again for the help of finding this.
